Making the Cuban Sloppy Joes
• First start by chopping the onions, red peppers and garlic into small pieces using your chopping knife and cutting board. Set them aside.
• Next you want to put the ground beef in the bottom of the large skillet and brown it thoroughly. Make sure you mix it around with the wooden spoon to ensure it does not burn.
• Once the meat is fully cooked drain off all the fat by pouring it out of the skillet making sure the meat does not fall out.
• Then you add all the chopped onions, red peppers and garlic to the meat and turn the heat to medium low. When the onions and peppers get a little soft after about three or four minutes you add the cumin, chili powder, oregano, paprika, cayenne and cinnamon. Mix thoroughly with the wooden spoon.
• After the spices are mixed in well add the can of diced tomatoes to the mix and stir well. Add the apple cider vinegar and lime juice and simmer for about five to ten minutes on low heat.
• When the time is up, drain your green olives and chop them up into small pieces. Add the green olives, currents and capers to the mix and you are finished with the Cuban Sloppy Joes.
