Ingredients You Need
• ½ Pound of Hamburger
• ½ Teaspoon Garlic Powder
• 3 Carrots
• 1 Large Onion
• 4 Large Stalks of Celery
• ½ Teaspoon of Salt
• ¼ Teaspoon of Pepper
• 7 Cups of Water
• 1 Cup of Cooked Rice
• 1 ½ Beef Broth Cubes
• 28 Ounce Can of Crushed Peeled Tomatoes
Supplies You Need
• 3 Quart Saucepan with Lid
• Medium Frying Pan
• Measuring Cups
• Measuring Spoons
• Can Opener
• Vegetable Peeler
• Cutting Board
• Sharp Paring Knife
Making the Soup
• Prepare the rice according to the package. Make sure you get regular brown rice, not instant brown rice. Instant rice does not have the same nutrients as regular rice which is a much healthier choice. Set aside.
• Brown your hamburger in the frying pan with the garlic powder until it is fully cooked. Then drain off any excess grease and put it in the bottom of your saucepan.
• Peel and slice your carrots and then removed the outer layer of the onion and cut it into thick slices. Cut your celery into ¼ in slices and add all of the cut vegetables to your hamburger in the saucepan.
• Pour the seven cups of water into your saucepan and then add your canned tomatoes, beef cubes, salt and pepper.
• Turn the heat on medium high and bring to a boil. Then once it is boiling turn your burner down to low and simmer for 30 minutes. Add the cooked rice to your soup about 10 minutes before you would like to eat.
Enjoy!
